Between the Flu A and hosting Christmas I’ve been hanging on by a thread. Posting has been lower on the priority list. However, I’m better, Christmas presents haven been opened, my house is a mess, we are sliding into the New Year, and I’m back to posting!!!
I cooked Christmas dinner. Due to having the flu, I was behind all day. It was not my best. I could have been more prepared but it just didn’t happen.
We ate roasted brussel sprouts with a Parmesan cream sauce, mashed potatoes with an au gratin topping, chipotle sweet potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and choice rib were on the menu. Not prime rib, because I only bought a choice rib roast and not prime!
I find holidays are not simply pure joy. They are complicated and messy and sometimes hard. Enjoying the lights while fighting with your family about a gluten free meal. Feeling sad because you are missing some gluten filled treat you ate as a kid but are grateful that you now know the cause of much of your discomfort. Trying as hard as you can to prepare for the holiday but epically fail because you have the flu.
Anyway, tell me how your holiday went or is going. Let us hear the good and support the bad.
