Today is for action. Call your Representatives today.

The Celiac Safety Act of 2026 has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives.
If passed, it would require gluten-containing grains — wheat, barley, rye, and their crossbred hybrids — to be clearly labeled as major food allergens.
Right now, U.S. allergen labeling requires clear disclosure of wheat.
But wheat is not the only gluten-containing grain people with celiac disease have to avoid.
Barley matters.
Rye matters.
Malt matters.
Hidden gluten matters.
And people with celiac disease should not need a chemistry degree, a magnifying glass, and 14 open browser tabs to figure out whether a packaged food is safe to eat.
So today, call your representative.
Ask them to support and cosponsor the Celiac Safety Act of 2026, H.R. 9048.
You do not need a perfect speech.
You can say:
“Hi, my name is ___ and I live in your district. I am calling to ask Representative ___ to support and cosponsor H.R. 9048, the Celiac Safety Act of 2026. This bill would improve food labeling for people with celiac disease by requiring gluten-containing grains to be clearly labeled. This matters to me because celiac disease is an autoimmune disease, and gluten exposure can cause real harm. Thank you.”
That is it.
Make the call.
Leave the voicemail.

Celiac disease is not a preference.
Clear labeling is not too much to ask.
