Racing toward the New Year makes everyone remember their past year and start vowing to do things differently moving forward.

Many of the new things people vow to do is start a fresh diet. Friends and family may come to you asking for suggestions to start their gluten free diet. Here are my suggestions for those wanting to start a gluten free diet in 2025.

First, get tested for celiac disease. They don’t even have to go to the doctor. They can order screening tests online and get results in a week or two. If the screening test is positive, then a trip to the doctor for more thorough testing is suggested.

Second, a gluten free diet is not a weight loss plan and can be more expensive and cumbersome than a standard American diet. Gluten free foods are often loaded with sugar and fat to replace the gluten in foods. A more robust and healthy diet may be an autoimmune protocol diet.

Third, a gluten free diet is low in fiber, B vitamins, and a few other micronutrients. Supplementation may be necessary.

Fourth, if you are going to go gluten free, it is 100%. If you are going, gluten lite, that is something else. To gain the benefit of being gluten free, it is gluten free all the time, no cheating.

Finally, I will help you on the journey, but this gluten free path is not easy. It is difficult and isolating and can be expensive. But I can be your gluten free guide into this gluten free life.
